Fresh thinking: brand advantage in the legal world

When one of the largest firms of solicitors in central England wanted to update its brand to support continued growth, Switch fitted the bill perfectly.


From its roots servicing private clients, farmers and landowners, Brethertons employs 260 people across 4 locations in the UK.

Wishing to retain their existing corporate logo, Brethertons otherwise wanted to carry out a complete overhaul of their visual brand style, to develop an evolved brand which would position them with a clarity that reflected the aspirations of partners & staff, and address the needs & expectations of clients

We undertook a comprehensive research programme amongst staff, with group discussions, one-to-one interviews and an all-staff quantitative perceptions survey. The rich insight we gained from this exercise informed the creation of the brand strategy and creative development of both the brand narrative and visual style.

The Switch brand strategy and creative team worked closely with the Brethertons executive team throughout, to ensure that the new branding was completely aligned with the business imperatives. The result was a strong and distinctive visual style and brand platform from which to tell the Brethertons story of people and expertise, to both internal and external stakeholders.
