Olam International is a leading agri-business operating from seed to shelf in 65 countries. They supply food and industrial raw materials to over 13,800 customers worldwide and because of the nature of their business, their approach to sustainability affects their success more than most.

Addressing a constant aspiration to evolve, improve and lead, the 2014 Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Report articulates the interconnectivity of Olam’s seven material areas. Following a creative pitch against London-based competition, Switch was appointed to design the prestigious report – to help bring to life Olam’s rich content.

We adopted an illustrative style to make the content more accessible, and to clearly show the linkage of the challenges within relevant landscapes, enabling us to convey the theme of ‘interconnected landscapes’ in an engaging and vibrant way.

In an independent review, a leading sustainability service organisation placed the report in its Top Ten Sustainability Reports for 2014 - outlining it as ‘exceptionally cleverly written and designed’

The new approach and imagery has subsequently been applied to other multi-lingual Olam publications such as the Olam Livelihood Charter, creating a strong identity for a maturing CR&S personality – in its own way a demonstration of sustainable creativity!
